DOWN UNDER COLOUR
is proud to be the exclusive provider of the
FLORIDA AIR ACADEMY EQUESTRIAN PROGRAM
Here at Down Under Colour Equestrian Center we do our best to accommodate to each students needs.
We would prefer students to bring their own horses to board here at Down Under Colour, but we do have
horses here for them to ride.
We will also bring in any trainer to fit the discipline the students require, whether it is Hunter/Jumper,
Dressage, Barrels/Games, Western, Mounted Shooting or Trail riding.
One of our top trainers Janet Andrews is well known in Florida and all over the country for her high
quality expertise in training horses.
Cadet Kayla Nelson has had one lesson with Janet Andrews already and we are planning on bringing her
here Down Under at least once a month. For more information on World Class trainer Janet Andrews

Down Under Colour is also excited about bringing in such greats as champion Dressage trainer Steve
Kannikkeberg to hold clinics for the students, when, and if he comes to Melbourne. Steve is a good
friend of Janet Andrews and normally holds clinics here in Melbourne Florida at least once a year.

Below is a break down of what we offer our FAA boarders and riders.
Our barn is an M.D. Barn which we had custom made after the hurricanes went through Florida in 2005.
The barn is steel and concrete. The concrete footers are over 3 feet deep. It is kick proof, chew proof
and fire proof.
The flooring in the entire barn is all concrete, which means no uneven floors in the stalls resulting in
sores on the hocks from a horse lying down in the stall and abnormal strains on tendons and joints
caused from uneven flooring in stalls. Every stall has high quality, shock absorbing 1in thick linear
rubber matting for comfort. This quality of rubber matting is used in European countries especially at
Olympic level barns where concrete flooring is common and care needs to be taken with a horses joints
and tendons. If, we get more hurricanes and the horses need to be in their stalls for an extended
period, it is peace of mind knowing that they are standing comfortably for days or weeks on end.
We also use high quality dust free Guardian brand bedding. Overhead fans are also available when
needed.
Also in all boarders stalls are Ritchie brand automatic waterers with a water gauge, so that we know how
much water a horse is consuming daily whilst in their stalls.
We feed only Timothy and Alfalfa hay or a high quality Orchard grass. NO COASTAL HAY.
Plus a 10% Nutrena all grain, with a Iron Horse vitamin/mineral supplement, which i have shipped in from a
vet in Pennsylvania www.ironhorseproducts.com
Our new 70ft x 135ft arena is built to United States Dressage Federation standards, with high quality 70%
sand and 30%clay footing mix.
We also have 2 round yards, the main round yard is 60ft in diameter and lit for night riding. Our second
round yard is only 40ft in diameter and is next to the arena for trainer convenience. And also available is
a small trail course for Western riding.
Our facility though small, is of the highest quality and we look forward to growing along with the FAA
Equestrian Program and are excited for the future.
